When I purchased my first home, I bought a "fixer upper" simply to save money. Little did I know that I would fall in love with do-it-yourself home improvements. When I first started working on my home, I realized just how therapeutic working with your hands can really be. I, of course, hired a few contractors to perform some of the work that was well above my skill level, but I enjoyed working alongside them every day. I have always respected the earth, so I took time to look into environmentally friendly building options and learned a lot along the way. Now that my home is finished (for now), I wanted to start a blog to share all that I have learned about turning a house into a real home.
